Greek gov't condemns petrol bomb attack against State Minister's residence

Xinhua, November 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Greek government condemned on Saturday a petrol bomb attack against State Minister Alekos Flambouraris' residence in central Athens which caused no injuries but minor material damages.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday outside Flambouraris' two floored house at Exarcheia, a district which for decades has been the stronghold of anarchists in the Greek capital.

Flambouraris was not inside the house when the attack took place.

A police investigation was underway.

In a press release the minister denounced the "terrorism attack," arguing that it was the result of a "slanderous campaign" against him by a part of media controlled by entrepreneurs with vested interests in coordination with certain political circles.

Government spokeswoman Olga Gerovassilis and SYRIZA issued statements in a similar tone. Endit
