Xinhua, November 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Belgian police found a cache of weapons on Friday night when they raided a property in the Brussels district of Molenbeek, local media reported on Saturday.

The Belgian federal prosecutor confirmed that several weapons were seized during the police raid, but no chemicals or explosives, contrary to earlier newspaper reports.

The prosecutor's office said no further information would be made public at this stage.

Earlier on Saturday, Belgian public broadcaster RTBF reported that a "key figure" had been arrested in an unnamed part of the Brussels region on Friday evening.

Shopping centers around the Brussels region began to close around midday on Saturday as a security precaution, local media and witnesses on social media reported. Enditem
