At least eight people, including four militants, were killed and three others injured in two separate gun attacks in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Saturday, local media reported.

Dunya TV said the paramilitary troops Rangers conducted a search operation in Northern Bypass area of Karachi, the capital city of the country's south Sindh province.

During the operation, the militants opened fire at the troops, engaging them into gun battle in which four insurgents were killed.

The troops said the killed militants were involved in the killing of three Rangers personnel outside a mosque on Friday.

In a separate exchange of fire, four people were killed and three others injured when a clash erupted between the group of two drug dealers in Golimar area of the city.

Security forces cordoned off the area.

Police said the remaining drug dealers fled the scene and a search operation has been launched to hunt down them. Enditem
