Transit refugee flow via Slovenia appears slowing down

Xinhua, November 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

The transit refugee flow via Slovenia appears to have slowed down a bit with 5,119 arrivals registered on Thursday, the local media reported.

The state police statistics by 0600 AM (local time) on Friday showed the total of transit refugees since mid-October up to now is over 242,000, the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) reported.

Most of the Friday morning arrivals via Dobova crossing, the main entry point, were taken by trains on to Sentilj on the border with Austria. Since 20 October, a total of some 225,400 left Slovenia for Austria.

A drop in the daily number of refugee arrivals comes likely after the countries on the Balkan migration route agreed on the need to slow down the migration flow, the STA report said. Endit
