2nd LD: All Indians in Mali hotel siege evacuated safely

All Indians trapped inside a Mali hotel had been evacuated by a joint team of UN, Mali and French soldiers on Friday, according to local TV Times Now.

Militants attacked the Radisson Blu Hotel in the Malian capital of Bamako earlier in the day, taking some 170 guests and hotel staff hostage, including 20 Indians.

At least 80 people had been freed so far, said media reports.

Mali has been plagued by an Islamist insurgency which was attacked by a French-led African force over the past two years. Endit
