Platini lodges appeal to CAS

UEFA President Michel Platini has lodged an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against his 90-day ban by FIFA, his legal team confirmed Friday.

   Platini's legal team said "we are confident that CAS will issue a ruling very quickly given what is at stake."

   FIFA's appeal committee on Wednesday rejected Sepp Blatter and Platini's appeals against their bans for financial wrongdoing.

   The 90-day ban has been a big blow to Platini's hope of winning a FIFA presidential election in Zurich on Feb. 26, 2016. With the ban, Platini cannot take part in the presidential campaign against other five candidates.  Endi
