EU encourages Vietnam to have more ambitious climate goal

Xinhua, November 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam said Friday that EU encourages Vietnam to commit to a more ambitious climate goal.

The EU delegation made the remarks before the adoption of a new global climate agreement at the COP21 climate conference in Paris this December.

The delegation and some European countries' embassies in Vietnam on Friday jointly held a conference titled "EU Climate Change Action in Vietnam" to engage with local stakeholders.

The EU is committed to adopting a legally binding, ambitious international agreement - a target of reducing domestic greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40 percent by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. Enditem
