Xinhua, November 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

Russia's Eastern Military District, headquartered in Russia's city of Khabarovsk, was equipped with more than 850 modern weapons since the beginning of this year, a senior officer said recently.

The Pacific Fleet, headquartered in Vladivostok, has received a strategic submarine named Alexander Nevsky, an anti-aircraft weapon system S-400, multiple rocket launchers, T-72B3 tanks, as well as electronic warfare and unmanned aerial vehicles, Commander of the Eastern Military District Colonel-General Sergey Surovikin said during the meeting of the military council.

He also revealed that the second missile brigade district was rearmed with tactical missile systems "Iskander-M."

"All the servicemen have been re-trained for the modern military equipments," he added.

The district will continue reforming military units with modern military equipments, and retain the same rate of re-equipment for 2016, Surovikin said. Endi
