State Council appoints head of HK's new innovation bureau

The State Council, China's Cabinet, on Friday appointed Nicholas W. Yang as chief of the newly established Innovation and Technology Bureau (ITB) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The State Council said in a statement that the appointment, based on the nomination of Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung, was in accordance with the Basic Law.

With the new appointment, the ITB is officially established on Friday. The ITB is the 13th policy bureau of the Hong Kong government. Endi
