Vice mayor of Shanghai removed from post

Vice mayor of Shanghai Ai Baojun was removed from his post Thursday by the Shanghai Municipal's People's Congress, the city's legislature.

An investigation into alleged "severe disciplinary violations" by Ai was launched by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) on Nov. 10.

Ai has served as Shanghai vice mayor since December 2007, and director of the Administrative Committee of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone since September 2013, according to the CCDI website. Endi
