The Islamic State (IS) militant group has told local supporters to seek inspiration from the attack that killed a police accountant by a Sydney teenager in early October and carry out more attacks in Australia.
The latest issue of its online propaganda magazine said the 15-year-old gunman was a "brave knight," and that age shouldn't be a barrier to attacking non-Muslims in Australia, local media reported on Thursday.
Police accountant Curtis Cheng was shot dead by a radicalized teenager in early October, who was subsequently killed following a shootout with police.
Two men were in police custody over the incident.
An IS spokesperson cited in the magazine said law enforcement and security agencies across the world must be targeted, and restrictions on foreign travel or a lack of training should not dissuade followers to "kill them in any manner possible, regardless of the method."
The propaganda magazine also boasted about Friday's terror attacks in Paris, which killed at least 129 people and wounded 350, and the bombing of a Russian passenger plane over Egypt last month which left 224 dead.
IS has publicly claimed responsibility for both events. Endit
