Xinhua, November 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday, for the 7th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-UN Summit, a UN spokesman said here Wednesday.

"He is expected to meet with leaders in the region, including Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak," UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said at a daily news briefing here.

The secretary-general will also attend the signing ceremony of the 2015 Kuala Lumpur Declaration on the Establishment of the ASEAN Community and the Declaration on ASEAN 2015, Dujarric said, adding that Ban will return to New York on Monday.

On Thursday, the secretary-general will leave for Malta, which is hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Governments' meeting, and Ban has been invited to participate in a special session on climate change, he said.

"From Malta, he will travel to Paris on Saturday, 28 November, for the opening of the Climate Conference, also known as COP21," he said. Enditem
