PARIS -- Two armed terror suspects were killed and seven people were arrested during the police raid in the north Paris suburbs for hunting down the 9th suspect of the Paris attacks, according to Paris prosecutors.
The anti-terrorist raid, launched around 0420 local time (0320 GMT) Wednesday, targeted Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Moroccan-origin Belgian jihadist believed to be the mastermind behind attacks that killed at least 129 people in Paris on the night of November 13. ATHENS -- Two men who claimed to be Syrian refugees were arrested on Tuesday among the incoming refugees at Kos island on suspicion of ties to ISIS, Greek Coast Guard announced on Wednesday.
Authorities discovered photographs of hooded men with ISIS flags and guns on their mobile phones, Greek daily "Eleftheros Typos" (Free Press) reported, citing Greek national intelligence sources. According to the newspaper, one of the suspects was clearly posing with an ISIS flag in one of the photos. (Greece-Refugee-Arrests)

KABUL -- About 26 Taliban insurgents had been killed during cleanup operations since early Tuesday, the Afghan interior ministry said on Wednesday morning.
"In past 24 hours, Afghan National Security Forces carried out cleanup operations in Nangarhar, Laghman, Faryab, Kunduz, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Paktika and Helmand provinces. As a result 26 armed insurgents were killed, 19 wounded and four others were arrested by the ANSF," the ministry said in a statement providing daily operational updates. ISTANBUL -- Turkish police detained eight Islamic State (IS)-linked suspects at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, semi-official Anatolian Agency reported on Wednesday.
The eight Moroccans, who came from Casablanca, were planning to make their way to Germany posing as refugees, the agency quoted from police sources. (Turkey-IS-Arrests) Endi
