Spanish authorities investigating over 300 after Paris attacks

Spanish security forces said they were investigating more than 300 people in 160 different judicial operations for their possible links to extremism, media reported Wednesday.

Spanish authorities have stepped up efforts to pool resources, dismantle recruitment networks and detain those looking to radicalize possible recruits for Islamic State, the El Pais newspaper reported, quoting judicial sources.

A total of 174 suspected extremists have been arrested in Spain over the past four years. In 2015, 90 such arrests took place.

Spain is currently on a level 4 terrorist alert out of a possible 5 levels with anti-terrorism services of the Civil Guard, Police and National Intelligence Center meeting "two or three times" every day. Endit
