Nigeria promises closer ties with China in rail development

Nigeria on Tuesday said it will continue to partner and collaborate with the Chinese government especially in rail transportation.

Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi made the remark when the China's Ambassador to Nigeria, Gu Xiaojie visited him in Abuja, the country's capital city.

The minister praised China's support for the federal government in the area of infrastructure development especially of the rail lines.

Amaechi said although much work has been done, but Nigerians were looking forward to the completion of the project.

The former southeast Rivers State governor solicited the collaboration of the Chinese government in ensuring the speedy completion of the rail project.

The ambassador said China had achieved a lot in the area of infrastructure development in Nigeria and would continue to do more.

Gu said China was ready to partner and collaborate with Nigeria to promote industrial relations. Endit
