Burundi president sends condolences to France following terror attacks

Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza Tuesday signed in the condolence book at the French Embassy, condemning last week's terror attacks in the French capital Paris that left at least 129 people dead and hundreds injured.

"On behalf of the Burundian government and on my own behalf, I condemn the terror attacks the French people have faced and I share compassion with families of the victims," said Nkurunziza in the message.

Nkurunziza called on world leaders to fight against terrorism for the humanity's interest.

Other Burundian leaders have also signed in the condolence book at the French Embassy.

They include Burundian First Vice-President Gaston Sindimwo and Second Vice-President Joseph Butore.

The east African country's parliament and the ruling party, the National Council for the Defense of Democracy-Forces for the Defense of Democracy (CNDD-FDD) also sent condolence messages to France and its people through press releases. Endit
