Nepal-China's Tibet economic, trade fair kicks off in Kathmandu

Nepal-China's Tibet Economic and Trade Fair 2015 kicked off here on Tuesday, in an effort to boost bilateral trade and economic exchanges.

Vice Chairman of China's Tibet Autonomous Region Dong Mingjun, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai and Nepalese Commerce Secretary Naindra Prasad Upadhyay jointly inaugurated the five-day event at a function.

Dong Mingjun said trade fairs between China's Tibet and Nepal over the past years have played an important role in promoting traditional friendship as well as trade and economy between the two sides.

Highlighting the importance of bilateral economic and trade exchanges, Nepalese Commerce Secretary Upadhyay said they opened an avenue to people from both sides to explore new business opportunities.

Trade and Export Promotion Centre under Nepal's Commerce and Supply Ministry, the organizer, said there are 52 stalls from the Chinese side and 22 from the Nepalese side.

Chinese entrepreneurs display such goods as agriculture produce, garments, electronic goods, dairy products, while Nepalese entrepreneurs display goods including handicrafts, gems and jewelry, pashmina, medicinal herbs. Enditem
