China campaign to encourage green lifestyles

China has designated June of each year "National Ecological Civilization Month" as it plans a campaign to encourage its public to lead green lifestyles.

In a circular on its website on Monday, the Ministry of Environmental Protection urged environmental protection bureaus to promote environmentally-friendly practices in supply, packaging, procurement, recycling, dining, clothing, housing and traveling.

The ministry promised policies and regulations in support of the campaign, and said it will nominate cities to pilot green schemes. Endi
