Paris attacks blatant violation of human rights, civilization: People's Daily

Xinhua, November 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

The People's Daily condemned the Paris attacks in a commentary on Sunday, saying terrorist attacks against civilians are a blatant and extreme violation of basic human rights and civilization.

The article said extremism and terrorism are spreading across the world, and terrorist attacks resulting in massive civilian casualties have become more frequent and an increasingly grave challenge facing the entire globe.

Peace will remain elusive until imbalances in global development and regional political instabilities are effectively addressed, said the commentary.

It said a fundamental cure for the problem is to focus on development, to help the impoverished world develop, and to help unstable regions restore order autonomously.

Any form of radicalism is dangerous, it said, arguing that only the light of peace, development and progress can disperse the cloud of terrorism.

The commentary called on the international community to strengthen its determination and confidence in fighting all kinds of terrorism and boosting security cooperation to safeguard the lives of people around the world. Endi
