Gunman in Jordan police shooting not linked to any group: official

Xinhua, November 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

A senior Jordanian official said on Saturday that the policeman who killed five contractors on Monday was not linked to any group.

"The policeman acted alone," Salameh Hammad, Jordan's minister of interior, said at a press conference, adding that the attacker suffered from financial and psychological problems.

The minister did not specify further details.

On Monday, a Jordanian policeman opened fire at contractors, killing five civilians, including a South African and two U.S. trainers, at the international police training centre in Amman.

The attacker, who was identified as Anwar Abu Zeid, exchanged fire with the security forces at the center and was shot dead on site. Endit
