Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying on Saturday condemned the deadly attacks in Paris, which reportedly left at least 140 people dead.
He expressed his deepest sympathies on the loss of lives and injuries and extended his condolences to the families of the victims.
"The HK Special Administrative Region government just completed a large-scale inter-departmental counter-terrorism exercise," the chief executive said.
"While the level of terrorist threat in Hong Kong remains moderate, the SAR government will stay vigilant and well prepared to protect the lives and property of our public in view of the fast-changing international and regional security landscapes," he added.
French President Francois Hollande declared a state of emergency across the country and the borders were to be closed following the attacks overnight Friday. Enditem
