Taiwan stocks close down 1.17 pct

Taiwan's share prices closed lower Friday with the weighted index down 98.59 points, or 1.17 percent, to close at 8,329.5, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

Turnover totaled 77.15 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.36 billion U.S. dollars). Endit
