More smog, rain for China

Xinhua, November 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Smog will continue to shroud north China, while rainstorms will hit south China over the next three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said on Friday.

The country's weather observatory said the smog will hit parts of Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces in north and northeast China, as well as Beijing and Tianjin municipalities from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.

The NMC added that heavy fog will linger in parts of north and northeast China, areas along the Yellow and Huaihe rivers, as well as areas of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with visibility of less than 200 meters from Friday night to Saturday morning.

Heavy rain will sweep parts of Guangdong, Jiangxi and Fujian provinces, as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south China over the next 24 hours. Some areas will experience precipitation of 80 mm. Rain will sweep south China and areas to the south of the Yangtze River from Sunday, the center said. Endi
