Number of tourists visiting Macedonia increases

Macedonian State Statistical Office informed on Thursday that the number of tourists that visited Macedonia in September increased by 20 percent compared to same period of last year.

According to data the number of tourists visiting Macedonian in September reached 79,218, who spend a total of 184,262 nights.

In the same month the number of domestic tourist increased by 3.8 percent compared to that of last year, whereas the number of nights spent by foreign tourists rose by 24.3 percent.

The data also showed that in the period of January-September, the number of tourists increased by 11.2 percent, compared to the same period of last year, while domestic tourists increased by 5.6 percent and foreign tourists by 15.4 percent.

In 2014, Macedonia received 735,650 tourists. Endit
