French stock market index up 0.82 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 finished the trading day with an advance of 0.82 percent to close at 4,952.51 points on Wednesday, up 40.35 points.

Although it is a public holiday in France, the CAC 40 of Paris closed slightly higher on Wednesday with 33 of the 40 selected stocks gaining advance.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were Credit Agricole, up 3.74 percent, L'Oreal, up 2.85 percent, and AXA, up 2.30 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Wednesday were Vivendi, down 5.84 percent, Peugeot, down 2.00 percent, and Technip, down 1.63 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a slight advance of 0.02 percent to close at 4,912.16 points, up 0.99 points. Enditem
