Tokyo stocks mixed in morning as investors secure gains, others bolstered by earnings

Xinhua, November 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks ended the morning session mixed as investors were both choosing to lock in profits on the market's recent five-day rally as well as speculate based on recent upbeat corporate earnings.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged down 16.75 points, or 0.09 percent, from Tuesday to end the morning session at 19,654.51, while the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange added 2.49 points, or 0.16 percent, to end at 1,591.97.

Notable decliners before the break comprised nonferrous metals and pulp and paper-related issues, while mining and real estate stocks were among sectors that advanced. Enditem
