Lewandowski becomes face of Chinese telecom giant

Xinhua, November 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski will endorse Huawei Technologies' products in most of Europe, the Chinese telecom giant announced on Tuesday.

Huawei's Poland branch has signed a contract with the Polish international with details yet to be known.

Lewandowski, who has totaled over 100 goals in Germany's Bundesliga, will promote Huawei's brand image in central, northern and eastern Europe including Poland.

It is the "first celebrity branding cooperation" between China's high-tech multinational and top footballers in Europe, Huawei said.

"Lewandowski is brave, courageous and full of positive energy," said Huawei official Wang Yanmin. "From an ordinary boy with a footballing dream to a world star, he is the example of 'make it possible', which just agrees with Huawei's philosophy."

As a leading provider in global information and communications technology solutions, Huawei has been making connections with the world's most beautiful game.

It has cooperated with top football leagues and clubs, including Spanish Primera Liga, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan.   Endi
