Iranian president to visit Paris next week: Elysee

Xinhua, November 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani would pay a state visit to Paris next week in a bid to inject fresh blood into bilateral cooperation after a concluded nuclear deal which opened Teheran's doors to westerners, French President Francois Hollande announced Tuesday.

During Rouhani visit on Nov. 17, "several accords will be signed by French and Iranian ministers covering a variety of sectors, in particular political dialogue, economic cooperation, air transport, health and agriculture," the Elysee said in a statement.

As the disagreement over the role of Bashar al-Assad in the negotiation of a political transition in Syria clouded diplomatic ties between the both countries, Hollande and Rouhani would discuss the situation in the conflict-ravaged Arab country amid intensive diplomatic efforts to solve the Syrian issue.
