Refugee arrivals in Slovenia surpass 171,000

An early morning train carrying more than 1,000 refugees crossed into Slovenia from Croatia on Tuesday with two train carrying as many each the night before, bringing the total in the latest surge since mid-October to 171,130, according to the local media.
Slovenian Press Agency (STA) quoted the state police announcement that a further 1,000 were due to arrive at Dobova, southern border region with Croatia by coaches in the morning, followed by some 400 during the day.
Meanwhile, the Murska Sobota police reported that 514 refugees arrived early in the morning in 10 coaches at Petisovci crossing in the northeast of the country, with a further 570 migrants announced for 7 a.m. and an additional 400 later during the day.
After being registered and supplied with basic necessities, the refugees arrived via Dobova were taken by three trains and several coaches to Sentilj and Jesenice on the border with Austria.
Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec is now on his route on Tuesday to pay a working visit to Italy for talks on the refugee crisis. Endit
