Hamar-wayne District Commissioner Abdikadir Mohamed said the injured lawmaker Mohamed Ahmed Gurhan was attacked by the militants who later escaped from the scene.

Gurhan became the second Member of Parliament to have been attacked in a week after the insurgents killed a lawmaker when they carried out deadly attack at Sahafi hotel in Mogadishu on Nov. 1.
