Snow disrupts rail, highway service in NE China

Snow and rain disrupted railways and highways in northeast China's Liaoning Province, with dozens of trains delayed and highways closed.x Ice formed on some sections of the Beijing-Harbin railway, the Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway, the Panjin-Yingkou high-speed railway, said an official of Shenyang Railway Bureau.

Emergency measures were activated to remove ice and speed limits were imposed.

A blackout occurred on a section of the Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway in Liaoning at 2 p.m. Saturday. Workers are repairing the line.

Meanwhile, five expressway routes in Liaoning were completely closed and ten others partially shut due to snow, which began on Friday afternoon.

Local meteorological authorities issued an alert against icy roads for Shenyang, Anshan, Yingkou and some other cities.

Some areas in the northeast are forecast to have precipitation on Sunday. Endi
