Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen vowed on Friday to promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between his country and China.
When meeting with visiting Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan, Hun Sen said his country appreciated China's invitation to King Norodom Sihamoni to take part in the commemorations in Beijing marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and World War II.
The commemorative activities highlighted China's concept of peaceful development and showcased the Chinese military's modernization, the prime minister said.
Reaffirming the kingdom's support to China's policy and proposals on the South China Sea issue, Hun Sen said Cambodia is ready to boost cooperation with China in various fields.
He expressed the hope militaries of the two countries can enhance their exchanges and expand cooperation so as to further promote the Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
For his part, Chang said Cambodia has been firmly supporting China on issues concerning China's core interest.
China will unswervingly carry out the concept of "amity, sincerity, sharing in prosperity, and inclusiveness" in neighborhood diplomacy proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, said Chang, adding that the Chinese military is willing to join hands with the Cambodian army to elevate their military ties to a new height.
