Bulgaria to host China-CEEC cultural cooperation forum

Xinhua, November 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

The second forum on cultural cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) will be held here on Nov. 13 and 14, the Bulgarian ministry of culture said Thursday.

During the event, culture ministers from China and CEE countries will focus on current challenges in the management of cultural heritage and exchange of cultural values; promoting the exchange of products of cultural and creative industries as important engines of economic development; and encouraging the mobility of artists and the exchange of works of contemporary art.

They are also expected to adopt a declaration whose implementation would contribute to the cementing of the forum on cultural cooperation as a tool for permanent cooperation between CEE countries and China, the press release said.

The first forum was held in Beijing in May 2013, when the then Bulgarian Culture Minister Vladimir Penev proposed hosting the next forum in Bulgaria in 2015. Endit
