French stock market index up 0.64 pct on Thursday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 finished the trading day with an advance of 0.64 percent to close at 4,980.04 points on Thursday, up 31.75 points.

Although failing to reach the 5,000 points bar, the CAC 40 of Paris still closed slightly higher on Thursday with 25 of the 40 selected stocks gaining advance.

The top three gainers on Thursday were Veolia Environnement, up 6.54 percent, Legrand, up 4.14 percent, and Societe Generale, up 3.97 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Thursday were Credit Agricole, down 8.28 percent, EDF, down 7.86 percent, and Alstom, down 5.84 percent.

On the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.25 percent to close at 4,948.29 points, up 12.11 points. Enditem
