Namibia to warm up with Angola for upcoming World Cup qualifiers

The Namibian Football team left for Luanda, Angola, on Thursday morning to participate in a Four Nations Tournament, warming up for the upcoming two-leg clash with Guinea Conakry in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

   Namibia joins the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and the host team Angola, in the tournament that is set to be played at 11 de November Stadium in Angola's capital Luanda from Friday to Saturday.

   "The tournament gives us more action and this can only improve the team going forward and competing in further CHAN qualifiers," said Namibian coach Ricardo Mannetti,said Namibian coach Ricardo Mannetti.

   "The competition too will be good for those players that will form part of the Brave Warriors team to play Guinea in the World Cup Qualifiers, so this is perfect timing for us," added Mannetti.

   Namibia will first face the host team Angola on Friday. The winner of the match will take on the winning team between DR Congo and Zambia for the tournament title on Saturday. Two losing teams will fight for the third place. 

   The Namibian side is scheduled to encounter Guinea Conakry for the first leg on next Thursday in Namibian capital Windhoek. The second leg of the tie will be played in Morocco on Nov. 17, due to the Ebola epidemic in Guinea.  Endit
