French stock market index up 0.25 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 finished the trading day with an advance of 0.25 percent to close at 4,948.29 points on Wednesday, up 12.11 points.

Boosted by good economic indicators from Europe and the United States, the CAC 40 of Paris closed slightly higher on Wednesday with 23 of the 40 selected stocks gaining advance.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were Technip, up 4.93 percent, Alstom, up 4.12 percent, and LVMH, up 1.77 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Wednesday were ArcelorMittal, down 4.94 percent, Vinci, down 2.07 percent, and Peugeot, down 1.89 percent.

Engie and Sanofi stayed the same as previous trading day.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.41 percent to close at 4,936.18 points, up 19.97 points. Endit
