Kyrgyzstan's ruling coalition formed

Xinhua, November 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Four parties in Kyrgyzstan agreed Monday to form a ruling coalition and nominated Temir Sariyev as prime minister.

The coalition led by President Almazbek Atambayev's Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK) also nominated Asylbek Jeenbekov as parliament speaker. Both Sariyev and Jeenbekov retained their jobs.

Sariyev is expected to form a new government within seven working days.

The SDPK's parliamentary group leader, Chynybai Tursunbekov, was elected chairman of the coalition, which holds 80 seats in the 120-seat Supreme Council or parliament.

The SDPK won 38 seats in parliamentary elections on Oct. 4, becoming the biggest party in parliament. Endi
