Georgian leaders express condolences over Russian plane crash in Egypt

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Sunday offered their condolences to the families of victims of the Oct. 31 crash of a Russian passenger airliner in Egypt.

"On behalf of the Georgian people, I express condolences and offer sympathy to the families of victims in this difficult time," the Georgian president said in a statement.

Prime Minister Garibashvili also expressed sorrow over the plane crash which claimed more than 200 lives.

The Airbus A321, operated by a Russian airline, was flying from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg with 224 passengers and crew when it crashed Saturday in Egypt's Sinai peninsula, killing all abroad. Enditem
