Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with Toshihiro Nikai, chairman of the General Council of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on Saturday.

Liu said China attaches great importance to ties with Japan and is ready to work with Japan to promote friendly cooperation and people-to-people exchanges based on the four political documents signed by the two countries, and the four-point principled agreement they reached in last November.

Toshihiro Nikai said he will contribute more to the friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples, as well as the healthy and steady development of bilateral ties. Endi
