Venezuelan cyclists to participate in Costa Rica Tour

The Venezuelan national cycling team will take part in Costa Rica Tour, organizers said on Friday.

President of the Venezuelan Cycling Federation, Artemio Leonett, considered the event from Dec. 14 to 25 a good opportunity for their cyclists to gain Olympic qualification points.

The Costa Rica Tour comprises 11 stages. Besides Venezuela, other countries have confirmed their participation including Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Bolivia and Argentina.

Leonett said Venezuela's national team is strong and has a real chance to win the competition.

"We want to be leading players at this competition, which closes the continental season," he said. Endit
