Chinese company ZTE promotes green energy solution for better life in Africa

The Chinese telecom company ZTE, says it is focusing on green energy solutions towards better life in Africa by addressing challenges related to power shortage and environmental pollution facing the continent.
At a five-day energy meeting that kicked off on Monday in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa, more than 300 major global energy stakeholders are deliberating on issues related to the energy sector.
Shawn Li, Solution Manager at ZTE Energy Solution Planning Department, told Xinhua on Friday that his company promotes the green energy solutions to Africa that is facing many challenges in the energy sector.
"We want to bring green and better life for Africa," he said.
The World Energy Council and the Ethiopian Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity have organized the 2015 World Energy Council Executive Assembly and World Energy Leaders' Summit from 26 to 30 Oct., which provides platform for participants to exchange ideas, experiences and lessons learnt from across the energy sector.
In the margins of the energy event, ZTE has showcased its green energy solutions, including solar and wind power solutions among others, which offer green and uninterrupted power supply and energy-saving technologies.
Along with other Chinese companies, ZTE has been participating in the energy meeting, which has focused particularly on issues related to ways of balancing energy access, energy security and environment, renewable energy development, and regional integration of energy infrastructure among others.
During an exclusive interview on the sidelines of the meeting, Emily Melton, Chief Operating Officer of the World Energy Council (WEC) told Xinhua that China is a huge country with such massive influence in the energy sector. Endit
