Officially-compiled history of Tibet published

Xinhua, October 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Comprehensive History of Tibet compiled by China's official academic institute was published Friday, refuting fallacies held by the West and the Dalai clique with abundant historical materials and logical analysis.

With eight volumes and more than 9 million Chinese characters, the book is the first work introducing the comprehensive history of Tibet in a systematic way, with important academic value and social meaning.

The book clarifies many historical issues, refuting some fallacies against Tibet made by the Western anti-China forces and the Dalai clique, Lhapa Phuntsog, editor-in-chief of the book, said at a premiere event on Friday.

"It is conducive to inheriting and developing excellent national cultural traditions, as well as cultivating the awareness of the Chinese national community and serving the stability and development of Tibet," said Lhapa Phuntsog, who is also former secretary-general of the China Tibetology Research Center, the institute that led the compilation work as a state-level key project.

Over 80 experts from the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Peking University, Tsinghua University, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other leading academic institutions in China joined the premiere. Endi
