Tokyo stocks retreat in morning ahead of BOJ policy decision

Tokyo stocks retreated slightly at the end of the morning session, with market players waiting for the Bank of Japan's monetary policy decision due later in the day.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 28.11 points, or 0.15 percent, from Thursday to end the morning at 18,907.60.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 1.27 points, or 0.08 percent, at 1,545.84.

Decliners were led by miscellaneous products, glass and ceramics and securities. Endit
