U.S. First Lady to visit Qatar, Jordan to promote education of girls

Xinhua, October 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama will travel to Qatar and Jordan next month to promote her global education initiative for girls, the White House said Wednesday.

During the Nov.1-7 trip, Mrs. Obama is planned to address education leaders at the 2015 World Innovation Summit for Education in Doha, Qatar, the White House said in a press release.

In Amman, the First Lady will visit a school aided by the U.S. Agency for International Development, supporting Jordan's efforts on educating refugee children from Syria.

Mrs. Obama will also "participate in official meetings in both Doha and Amman," according to the White House.

She is also scheduled to meet U.S. military service members at a U.S. airbase. Enditem
