Myanmar to introduce sustainable management of natural reserves

Xinhua, October 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Myanmar's Ministry of Environment will introduce sustainable management of natural reserves in the country, official media reported on Wednesday.

Myanmar aimed to designate 10 percent of its total land area as natural reserve under the national forestry sector's 30-year project.

The plan currently counts 39 natural reserves covering 5.75 percent of the total land area of the country.

Meanwhile, Myanmar's Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry with the help of World Food Program is planning to monitor the forest coverage in the country under the one-year project. Endit
