Singapore stocks close 0.99 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 30.54 points, or 0.99 percent, to close at 3,052.53.

A total of 1.32 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 953.5 million Singapore dollars (684.9 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 285 to 133, while 516 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 14.61 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 3,083.07 on Monday. Endit
