Mainland-Macao trade up 35.2 pct in nine months

Trade between the Chinese mainland and Macao increased by 35.2 percent year on year to 3.56 billion U.S. dollars during the first nine months of 2015, the Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday.

The mainland's exports to Macao rose by 37.4 percent year on year to 3.42 billion U.S. dollars during the January-September period. Macao's exports to the mainland totaled 140 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 2.4 percent year on year, according to the ministry.

Mainland authorities approved 306 investment projects from Macao entities during the period, with the actual use of Macao capital reaching 750 million U.S. dollars, up 75.6 percent from the same period last year.

Mainland businesses had worked on 25 contracts in Macao from January to September, earning business revenue of 820 million U.S. dollars. Endi
