Brazil expresses condolences to Pakistan, Afghanistan over earthquake

The Brazilian government on Monday extended condolences over casualties and material damage caused by an earthquake that hit Afghanistan and Pakistan earlier in the day.

"The Brazilian government presents its condolences and solidarity to the families of the victims, to the people and the governments of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan," said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.

So far, there is no news of Brazilian citizens among the victims of the quake, said the statement.

The magnitude-7.5 earthquake hit the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan on Monday afternoon. Over 300 people were reportedly killed, most of them in Pakistan. Endi
