Slovak army, police to carry out border security exercise

Xinhua, October 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Slovak soldiers and military police officers will undergo a training exercise focused on guarding the border with Hungary in southern Slovakia on Oct. 29, confirmed Slovak Defence Minister Martin Glvac on Monday.

"There will be 126 soldiers and military police officers and 23 pieces of equipment in the exercise. Members of security forces will train jointly for the procedures involved in securing the state border," added Glvac.

According to Chief of the General Staff Milan Maxim, such exercises are among the tasks that Slovak soldiers carry out as stated in the law.

"The current situation makes us intensify joint exercises in a way that we can guarantee the security of citizens," stressed Maxim.

The purpose of the exercise is to verify the reaction time of the joint security forces in securing designated checkpoints and to exercise measures to ensure public order in a designated area. Endit
