Uganda Cranes have qualified for the 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) after beating hosts Sudan late on Sunday.

Milutin Sredojevic's team beat Sudan 2-0 at the Khartoum National Stadium to qualify on a 4-0 goal aggregate.

Ceaser Okuthi and skipper Farouk Miya netted first half goals for the Cranes.

It was Okuthi who scored the opening goal from a corner after 43 minutes before Miya made it 2-0 two minutes later.

The Cranes had been under lots of pressure against the Sudan Falcons, but kept their discipline in defending.

Uganda's midfielder Ivan Ntege was booked for a bad foul.

Ethiopia who lost the first leg 2-0 to Burundi became the second country to qualify from the Central East Zone after winning 3-0 in Addis Ababa on Sunday.

The other teams that have already qualified for the 2016 CHAN event to take place in Rwanda Jan. 16 to Feb. 7 include hosts Rwanda, Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria, Mali, Guinea, Gabon, Uganda, Zambia, Angola, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Two more matches will be played between Nov. 6-8 to decide which teams take the remaining two places. Endi
